Due to technical difficulties (could not get images out of the camera…), this is a belated posting.
I am getting ready for JANOME Institute, where I will be teaching an All About Art Quilting & Thread Painting class. I need to do a lot of prep work so that we can focus on sewing. Each student will get a kit. Painted Lutradur is one of the elements (I got mine from Stitches Quilt Shop in BC). The sunshine last week was an irresistible opportunity to get the painting done! I painted about 4 meters, using Lumiere paints. The table was covered with plastic, as the paint goes thru the web of Lutradur. Buddy was there to “help” but had some serious bird-dodging to do as they were not happy about him being in the backyard!
You can barely see it in this image, but the metal table pattern rubbed through in the painting (radiating squares, upper left of the green lutradur).
Multi-tasking: The samples for this class are also thread painting samples for the book. I am currently working on a Pear Portfolio!
